The Con Artists the Sextet Phenomenon

Prepare to get entertained with a slew of ¬†colourful musical scores inspired by internet memes, video games, film, television and pop culture. They come in six different flavours mostly seen in vibrant costumes. They are Adelaide’s The Con Artists.

The first time we’ve seen them perform was during AVCon (anime and video game convention) last year. They each have an amazing voice and when put together, it becomes a perfect ensemble that draws and captivates even the unaware. We’ll never forget their musical performance when they did the theme song for Nintendo’s Mario Brothers. It’s amazing how each of them can play a part and make beautiful arrangement.

If you check out each of the artist’s bios on theconartists.net, you will soon discover that they all have a passion for music. At their young age, together they’ve already established a solid foundation coupled with their individual experiences that make them who they are as artists. They are a unique breed and are geared for success.

It was about five months ago when The Con Artists first contacted us. They expressed their interest in working with us in making their Fringe promotional video for 2013. After meeting up with them over lunch, drinks and a few laughs, we agreed to do it. And as they say, the rest is history.

It took us roughly a few weeks to come up with a plan and a good story board that we were happy with. We presented it to them and they were happy to go with it. We filmed in a house where they normally get together and do their practice sessions. We got to meet Juliarr’s adorable cats and had free lunch to boot. It was an amazing experience working with The Con Artists. Not only are they talented, they are funny, friendly and genuinely down to earth.

The Con Artists will be performing at The Pad on March 7-9 starting at 7:30PM. Get your tickets while they last. Tickets on sale online and at Fringetix outlets. Cosplay is highly encouraged!
