The New Ghost Rider is hot, hot, hot!

The New Ghost Rider is hot, hot, hot!

The old flamehead is back. Leather, chains, new bike, new weapons, hellfire and all, but not the way you expect it. The Spirit of Vengeance has chosen a new host, woman called Alejandra.

Title: Ghost Rider #1

Marvel Comics

Review: Right in the thick of the ‘Fear Itself’ event, Ghost Rider made its’ return to the Marvel Universe. The world is under siege by Fear and his Avatars – and Vengeance is once again needed. The story begins with Johnny Blaze, enjoying his newfound freedom from the Ghost Rider curse, while Sin, the first avatar of fear, tearing through America followed by two of the deadliest Ghost Rider nemesis: Blackout and Deadwatch.

The new GR is armed with new abilities and weapons up her sleeve: his trusty chains and a scythe. After dispensing Blackout and Deadwatch, Sin turned her full attention to GR and brief but epic battle ensued. Without giving away too much, Sin’s confidence was shaken and discovered a strange new emotion for the new GR – respect.

There is an extra section in the comic book that tells the story of Adam, the person who was responsible of freeing Johnny Blaze from the Ghost Rider’s curse, and his secret cabal of… which I can only describe as ‘potential Ghost Rider hosts’.

I love the new direction and the new take on the old flamehead. Fans of the previous GR series like me won’t feel completely left out, as Johnny Blaze and Mephisto still play major roles in this new series.

Final verdict: Gonna read it again with some heavy metal playing in the background!
